The living room in the oriental style is created on the four basic principles: minimalism, functionality, proximity to nature and mobility. In such a room you can relax and recover after a noisy day.
Japanese style living room – minimalism in the culture of the East and West
We have elements of decor in the correct sequence
For a whole decade, interest in the Japanese manner of interiors’ design has not been weakened. What is the reason for this constancy? The fact is that such a manner sounds unobtrusive and sophisticated, which is the exact opposite of the rapid rhythm and roar of a modern metropolis. A Japanese style hall helps a person relax and restore strength, forming a “Zen” mood – a sense of inner freedom and harmonious unity with nature.
It was the culture of the country of the rising sun that became the source of the ideas of minimalism in the decoration of the modern European dwelling:
Elegant organization of space and light using exclusively necessary items. Each detail is endowed with individual meaning and is in its place.
Zoning of rooms with light partitions and screen, which gives them plastic suppleness, the ability to change in accordance with the internal mood of the hosts.
The use of a different -made level of ceiling and floor, columns, built -in furniture and, of course, environmentally friendly materials.
The only thing that the progressive style of minimalism could not absorb from eastern civilization is a connection with the religion and philosophy of society. But this is not possible in such a short hour. Such concepts have been formed for centuries.
Light and color in the interior
Japanese style and how to use it
Favorite combination of the Japanese – light and shadow. This is one of the distinctive features of national color. This effect is achieved using rice paper stretched on wooden lattices. Bright light, passing through the paper, gently dissipates, turning into a mysterious dusk, and complex shadows crawl from the grilles.
This effect is given by screen curtains – a translucent fabric stretched on vertical frames moving along the guides. The doors-fasum, partitions and a screen-by-scope for zoning space are made in the same way.
The sophistication and beauty of the room will help create a colore. Disassembly and muffled shades and combinations of colors are dictated by the nature and culture of this country. And their names are appropriate: black and cheap, the color of the mountains. It’s hard for us to imagine this. We call paints in accordance with the name of the material from which we get them (security, indigo, cobalt), and they transform the designation of the natural carrier: the reverse side of herbs and leaves (deaf and soft greenish-fan), the color of the wings of the Japanese nightingale (grayish bluish-green), the color of the bell (blue-green), the color of the plum (white-violet), the branch of blooming sakura (pink-brown), etc. D.
Remember that in the interior of the living room in the Japanese style everything makes sense? Color is no exception, it necessarily symbolizes something:
White – mourning and purity (one will not contradict the other if you comprehend the understanding of death in the Japanese interpretation);
black – joy;
yellow or gold – the power of the imperial power and the earthly element;
red – love, life, anger, fire, courage, strength;
blue -blue – constancy, peace, perfection;
Green – Future, Eternity, Immortality.
Improvised means – how can they be used?
It should be noted that for a European to use such a living room may not be quite comfortable. In this case, it is more appropriate to use only a few characteristic details.
No need to be afraid that you do not master such construction. To do this, you need to go through only a few simple stages:
come up with a unifying idea;
determine the color palette;
find and designate the center of the composition;
come up with details that will reveal the compositional solution.
Maybe create a design in a day is too bold a statement, but it is worth trying. First, to the maximum we free the room from bulky furniture. Everything that remains should be beautiful and have a special meaning.
We change the curtains for curtains-neore with cuts in the middle. For one narrow curtain, we take from 5 to 7 squares with a side of 0.4 m from light textiles with ties in the corners and consistently tie them together. To obtain the required width, several cloths are connected with additional ropes. We highlight the place for the alcove-tookonoma. To do this, we zonize the space by putting in this place on the floor of the Tatama. We put something beautiful on it: Ikebanu or fresh flowers in a vase. Here you can hang an engraving or calligraphy in an elongated vertical format. In the middle of the room, we put a low table for a tea ceremony, or, for lack of, a coffee table, and around it we put pillows-dzabuton, decorated with patterns of flowers or hieroglyphs. The level of the countertop is desirable to lower, shortening the legs of the table.
It would still be nice to replace the modern chandelier with the corresponding design of the living room with a lamp with multiple light, and hang Japanese flashlights on the walls. All this can be created from paper and bamboo, but in a day, most likely, do not have time. Therefore, on the first evening, it is permissible to replace electricity with candles placed on the floor.
