Today we will not talk about the materials used in the manufacture of sinks, as well as affect the topic of the functionality and the need for this subject. The washing in the kitchen is necessary, and this is a fact!
The question is different – how to install a sink on the cabinet yourself? There is nothing particularly difficult when carrying out it with your own hands, the main thing is to know the principle and sequence of work, as well as have a standard set of tools, and of course desire.
Ways to install washing on the cabinet.
The installation method depends on the type of plumbing product, the most common types:
● mortise – mounted directly in the countertop;
● invoice – installed on top of the end part of the cabinet.
Installation of a cut sink.
Important! Independent installation of a cut sink at home is possible only on countertops made of materials lends caught without the use of special tools and equipment (fiberboard, plastic, wood, etc. D.).
one. Dismantle the countertops and put it on an even, stable surface with the front side up.
2. Mark the hole for washing. To do this, turn the sink over the bottom of the bowl up (the output for the siphon should turn out to be from above) and place it in the selected place on the countertop. Outline the product. In the inner part, with an indent of 1.5 cm from the first outline, draw another circuit – a devil for a cut.
Important! When marking the location of the sink, experts recommend leaving the sides on the countertop:
● near the wall of at least 2.5 cm (the indicator is selected depending on the diameter of the base of the crane/mixer);
● Closer to the user – about 5 cm.
3. Using a drill, make a through hole in the tabletop of the cabinet, it should be located as close as possible to the inner contour, but not. A saw from an electrician is inserted into this hole, after which a neat cut is made along the inner contour.
Tip: In order for the cut part when the jigsaw does not vibrate, it can be temporarily fixed. To do this, screws are inserted (not screwed into the places of the cut, they serve as sealing elements. After the work is completed, the screws are easily removed and the internal (unnecessary) part is removed.
3. The surface after cut it is thoroughly spaced, while removing not only wood or plastic dust, but also small breakdown pieces.
four. Before you finally install the sink, you need preliminary fitting – insert the sink into the prepared hole. Moreover, it should freely and at the same time fit into it tightly, the gap between them should not exceed 2 mm.
If by chance, the backlash turned out to be larger than the required size, the seal, the upper (protruding) part, which is cut with the surface of the cabinet, is inserted into the space between the sink and the countertop.
5. Cover with silicone or acrylic sealant all the places cut down and, without waiting for its drying, insert the sink.
Advice. To prevent the appearance of a fungus, when buying a sealant, it is better to give preference to waterproof agents intended for plumbing.
6. At the last stage of installing the washing on the cabinet, a drain siphon is attached, which is connected to the sewer.
Installation of the overhead sink.
Installation of a patch washing is perhaps the easiest way to install. It is attached to the cabinet that does not have a countertop, right on the walls. There are 2 installation methods:
Sliding – the sink is equipped with special bent elements that are inserted into the guides fixed on the inside of the cabinet, after which the sink is pushed along them until it stops.
Ordinary – imposition of the product on the end parts of the cabinet (walls).
Most often, the traditional way to install overhead washes is used. Its size should be slightly larger than the dimensions of the end part of the cabinet, due to the fact that such a sink performs 2 functions:
one. Direct – washing.
2. Replaces the countertop.
Method for installing a sink:
one. The mounts that are included with the overhead sink are recorded in the upper part of the inside of the cabinet. In this case, the self -tapping screws are attached on the walls, then brackets are fixed on them. At this stage, the screws are screwed up to the stop, but only so that the brackets hold on the wall and do not move.
Advice! Before screwing the screws, attach the brackets to the surface and evaluate visually, where and how they should eventually be located. Mark the place of fastening elements with a pencil, this simple way will help establish all the details perfectly evenly and exactly where it is necessary.
2. Insert the sink into the grooves of the brackets, check the landing density.
3. If everything is in order and she gets up, as it should, remove it and smear it with sealants of the walls of the cabinet. Then insert it into place, into the brackets.
3. Pull the fasteners to the surface of the wall, by tightening the connection, t. e. Twist the screws as deep as possible.
four. Connect the drain siphon to the sewer and install the crane.
