The video presents tips on proper gluing of vinyl wallpaper
A few decades ago, when most of the goods, including wallpaper, were in a large shortage, they were successfully replaced by an ordinary adhesive designed for dining tables. She was not afraid of moisture and was easily served, making life easier for many housewives. One thing is bad – it was impossible to call such a beautiful coating beautiful. Today, there are many types of wallpaper on the market that can be washed, and the number of colors strives for infinity. But there is also what unites modern coating with its predecessor – the walls are deprived of the opportunity to “breathe”. For this reason, it is recommended to finish the surfaces with such material only in rooms with good ventilation. Otherwise, humidity will increase significantly – and this most often creates a feeling of discomfort.
So, what is the difference between this wall covering from other types of wallpaper? It is not only not afraid of moisture – even detergents do not fear it. According to manufacturers, the life of the material is at least one and a half decades, and throughout this time they do not lose their original color. In addition, unlike ordinary wallpaper, this material is more resistant to mechanical damage.
There are two varieties of this finishing material. One of them is duplex wallpapers, which are a two -layer material consisting of a fabric or paper base and a polymer coating. The second category includes material in which the latex coating acts as the facial layer. It is less resistant to mechanical influences than duplex, but otherwise there are no differences between them. To find out which processing is allowed to subject certain wallpaper, you can design on the roll:
One wave. Means that the coating is moisture -resistant and suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms, but they cannot withstand mechanical pressure.
Two waves. Such a sign serves as a signal that the material can be washed with a soft sponge or rags.
Three waves. Marking denoting the possibility of cleaning using synthetic detergents.
One wave and brush under it. The most “hardy” type of coating, which is not scary to use even enough hard brushes.
Sometimes self -adhesive films are also included in the category of coatings that are not afraid of moisture. However, this is not entirely true, since they are very rarely used on the walls, ennoble the old furniture.
Unfortunately, even the most “armor -piercing” wallpaper is not recommended to glue in the bathroom. The whole thing here is in the seams, since during operation the water will fall into them very quickly, and the material will simply peel off. So for the bathroom the best coating, than tiles, it is simply impossible to come up with a tile.

How to remove old vinyl wallpapers – video
The walls must be pre -prepared – if necessary, aligned with plaster, putty and treated with a primer. Then you can start glue the wallpaper. You need to start from the window, and for convenience, some masters recommend marking.
Since such wallpapers are quite dense and thick, you will need glue for heavy non -woven or vinyl wallpaper. It must be applied to the wallpaper in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer. It is very convenient to work with such material – it can be torn off from the wall several times until it lies perfectly.
The main condition during work is to ensure that the seams in no case lie down. Due to the considerable thickness of the coating, the seams will be very noticeable against the background of the rest of the wall – and this looks quite ugly and carelessly.
A significant thickness of the wallpaper allows you to hide small irregularities and cracks on the walls.
Springs on wallpaper – no trouble!
It is unlikely that you can avoid spots on the walls in the kitchen. But getting rid of them if washable wallpaper is selected as a wall covering, quite simple. However, in order to make sure that washing will not do the material of irreparable harm, first you need to “practice” on a not very noticeable site. However, it all depends on the marking of the wallpaper mentioned above.
So, we will build on the fact that the wallpaper can be washed using household chemicals. The only thing that cannot be used in this case is a washing powder. The water fluid is dissolved in water and beaten to lush foam, a small amount of which is then taken with a sponge and with light “wetting” movements is applied to the wall. After that, the excess foam is removed with a dry rag. If the stain could not be removed the first time, re -processing can only be carried out after the coating dries, otherwise there is a risk of damaging it. It should be remembered that with very frequent washing, wallpaper can quickly become unusable.
